God

God is the creator and ruler of the universe. He exists in three persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is all powerful, all knowing, and perfect. To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience.

The Father
The Father cares for His Creation and children. He is all powerful, all knowing, all loving, and all wise. God is Father to those who become children of God through faith in His Son Jesus Christ. He is fatherly in His attitude toward all. The Son

Jesus is the eternal and only Son of God. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus revealed and did the will of God. He was fully man, taking on all the attributes of a human, yet He never sinned. He died on the cross becoming the perfect sacrifice. This death on the cross was Jesus taking the punishment for those who would put their faith in Him. He was raised from the dead with a glorified body and appeared to His disciples as the person who was with them before His crucifixion. He ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God. He will return in power and glory to judge the world and to complete His redemptive mission.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine. He inspired holy men of old to write the Scriptures. Through illumination He enables men to understand truth. He exalts Christ. He convicts men of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He calls men to the Savior, and effects regeneration. At the moment of regeneration, He baptizes every believer into the Body of Christ. He cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, and bestows the spiritual gifts by which they serve God through His church. His presence in the Christian is the guarantee that they have been saved. He enlightens and empowers the Preston Stewart Statement of Beliefs believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service. The Bible
The Holy Bible was written by men who were perfectly inspired by God. The Scriptures are God's revelation of Himself to man. It is perfect without error. It is the Christians guidebook for life. Teaching a Christian how to live as closely to the standard Christ set as possible. It reveals the principles by which God judges us and is the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. Mankind

Man is made in the spiritual image of God, to be like him in character. He is the supreme object of God’s creation and affection. Although man has tremendous potential for good through Jesus Christ, he is marred by toward God called “sin.” This attitude separates man from God. Salvation

Salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works – only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith. Baptism

Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer's death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. Communion

Communion is a symbolic act of obedience whereby members of the church, through partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine, memorialize the death of Jesus and anticipate His second coming. 1 Corinthians 10:16,21; 11:23-29; Luke 22:19-20

 

Family

God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of society. It is composed of persons related to one another by marriage, blood, or adoption. Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. It is God's unique gift to reveal the union between Christ and His church and to provide for the man and the woman in marriage the framework for intimate companionship, the channel of sexual expression according to biblical standards, and the means for procreation of people. The husband and wife are of equal worth before God, since both are created in God's image. The marriage relationship models the way God relates to His people. A husband is to love his wife as Christ loved the church. He has the God-given responsibility to provide for, to protect, and to lead his family. A wife is to submit herself graciously to the servant leadership of her husband even as the church willingly submits to the headship of Christ. She, being in the image of God as is her husband and thus equal to him, has the God-given responsibility to respect her husband and to serve as his helper in managing the household and nurturing the next generation. Children, from the moment of conception, are a blessing and heritage from the Lord. Parents are to demonstrate to their children God's pattern for marriage. Parents are to teach their children spiritual and moral values and to lead them, through consistent lifestyle example and loving discipline, to make choices based on biblical truth. Church

The church is the people of God. It is not a place or house in which God lives or dwells. The Church, or body of Christ is a group of believers growing in their faith and worshiping, fellowshipping and praising God together under the guiding of the Holy Spirit. It is where believers can be connected to support, encourage, train and guide each other on their Christian walk.
